The Master Classes of the Starnberg Days of Music 2019 will take place from April 23rd to April 27th, 2019. April 23rd is arrial day with registration and get-together, the courses will begin April 24th, 9am.

The special master class with Ana Chumachenco will take place April 14th, 2019 with selected students.

1. How to apply

Please ensure that all documents are received in due time. This includes the following:

  • Completed application form
  • links to videos or recordings
  • a photo for the Festival Pass
  • payment of the registration fee

Important: Without meaningful recordings (videos), it is difficult for the professors to make a selection. You could place your videos as "private" on YouTube, so they are not publicly visible.

2. Deadlines

Registration deadline: April 1st, 2019
Decision of your participation not later than: April 7th, 2019
Payment of course fees (active participation):
Payment must be received by April 10th, 2019

3. Fees

Regular Masterclasses:

Registration fee: € 120 (no refund possible)
Course fee: € 300

Passive participation: € 120

After paying this amout, music students and music lovers can participate passively at the Master Classes and thus follow each lesson during the days of the Classes.

Cancellation: if you cancel the course after April 10th, 2019 no refund is possible.

Special Masterclass Ana Chumachenco:

Registration fee: 40€
Course fee: 160€

The registration fee for the special master classes won't be reiumbursed if the applicant isn't selected for the class, but allows for passive participation.

4. The course fee includes:

Regular Masterclasses:

  • 4 lessons given by your professor
  • Daily orchestra rehearsal with the conductor
    (only for string instrument students)
  • Free entry to the festival concerts
  • Participation in concerts (by decision of the professors)
  • Passive participation at all courses of the Festival

Special Masterclasses:

  • 1 lesson (60 minutes)

5. Attendance

All active participants are obliged to be on site during the entire time of the Classes. Late arrival or early departure is possible only in exceptional cases and in consultation with the Festival Office.

6. Schedules

The schedules for your lessons are prepared by the Festival Office. These schedules are to be observed and can only be changed in exceptional cases and in consultation with the Festival Office.

8. Practice in Munich International School (MIS)

In MIS Starnberg enough practice rooms are provided. The following rules must be observed:

  • Practice in classrooms is possible between 8 a.m. and 5:45 p.m.; at 5:45 p.m. all participants are asked to leave the building.
  • Schedules for practice hours are on display at the MIS; each student should enter his/her name there for the desired practice times.
  • We assume no responsibility for instruments or private belongings.

9. Chamber Music Concert

The professors will select the participants for the chamber music concert. Students aren't entitled to participate unless they are selected by their respective professors. 

10. Final Concert

The final concert in the Schlossberghalle (Great Hall) offers participants of the Academy the opportunity to demonstrate their skills before the public. It is up to the professors to decide on the selection of students performig at the final concert.

11. Accomodation / Travel

Accomodation isn't included in the corse fee.

Participants can research accomodation at the Starnberg Tourism office, www.sta5.de or www.starnberg.de.

Travel time from Munich Main Station to Starnberg by S-Bahn is about 33 minutes. From Starnberg, participants can take a bus to Munich International School (MIS).

BUS Starnberg Nord to Buchhof: No. 961/963 (8:27; 8:33 am). Please check if there are any changes to the normal schedule.

There are no shops or restaurants near Munich International School - please consider brining lunch or subscribe to the lunch during registration. 

12. Grant of Rights

The Agency Faviola (Organizer of Starnberg Days of Music) will take photos, audio and video recordings during the entire time of the Master Classes (March 29th – April 3rd,2016). The students transfer all rights of use to the Agency Faviola, especially the right to use photographs and recordings for future promotional materials (flyers, postcards, website, posters, etc.).
