Kai Frömbgen

Masterclass Oboe

Kai Frömbgen studied under Prof. Christian Wetzel at the University of Music in Leipzig. During his studies, he was a member of the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO), a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation, and a recipient of support from Villa Musica. After an initial position in Ludwigshafen, he joined the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra as principal oboist in 2003. He also served as principal oboist of the Lucerne Festival Orchestra under Claudio Abbado and has been the principal oboist of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe since 2012.  

Following his teaching role at the University of Music Saar, he was appointed Professor at the Robert Schumann University of Music in Düsseldorf in 2014. Since 2016, he has been a member of the Linos Ensemble.
